EVA/zinc oxide nanocomposites for active food packaging: selected physical, and microbial properties

چکیده

The melt-mixing method was used to obtain nanocomposites of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) with 1, 3 or 5wt% hydrophilic zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles. contact angle, barrier and antimicrobial properties the obtained composites were investigated. characterized by better properties, as evidenced by, respectively, a smaller angle lower water vapor permeability absorption compared EVA, which can be explained formation hydrogen bonds between EVA ZnO. In addition, greater bactericidal activity against E. coli S. aureus. optimal physical microbial wt% ZnO content.
